Wunimbe was established in 2019 by Blair Wilson in Beverly Hills, California. After the death of his friend and mentor Phil, who was 25 feet off shore trying to get a child's shoe when he struggled and drowned. Blair began to draw inspiration to create from Phil's love for music and people. Phil dreamed of someday becoming a radio DJ. In honor of Phil, a portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to The ZAC Foundation. The ZAC Foundation prepares children and families for a lifetime of water safety.
